Soundtracking the Anthropocene
Særa Fiøra is a vocalist, songwriter, and producer creating immersive work about what it means to be alive in the Anthropocene: to inhabit an astonishingly beautiful planet while witnessing our own species alter it at planetary scale.
Særa Fiøra gathers field recordings and brings those sounds directly into her songs, weaving landscapes and wildlife into layered compositions. Her work is deepened by an ongoing collaboration with world-class cellist Shaun Diaz, who brings emotional depth and a lifetime of dedicated training to Sara's work.
Her upcoming album Violet Wing turns toward the threshold we are living through now: ecological loss, human brilliance and destruction, the psychic weight of knowing what is happening, and the impossible beauty of what is still here.
The work looks the devastation straight in the eye while simultaneously asking us to notice the beauty that is still here, to not look away or give up before the living world becomes memory.
