A song is a living thing.
SongWilding is an approach to songwriting that understands human creativity as an emergent and collaborative process.
Rather than working with formulas or preconceived ideas, we create through opening and attunement - to place, memory, emotion, imagination, sound, and the living world around us - and hold space for the song to form. We then bring technique & structure to what emerges so that those energetics can be transmitted to others.
The song becomes alive through the world, through you.

The Philosophy
The modern world often teaches us to produce. To look at a blank page and make something happen. To come up with a great idea. To write something catchy, something people will like.
Songwilding throws all of that out and invites us to listen. To become attentive to the stories and poetry murmured by landscapes, creatures, memories, emotions, and imagination. To recognize creativity as participation in a living world rather than production.
