'Til the Water Runs Clear

Mixing, Mastering, & co-production by Shaun Diaz

'Til the Water Runs Clear

Meet me there by the reeds
Where the water runs in many tongues and memories
I’ll take you to a place where not a creature has a name
Where everything that changes somehow also stays the same

Loose your tongue, as we speak
Go claim anything, eventually the truth will leak
And could we be forgiven if we learned to speak the land?
In the dappled sleeping fawn a secret message is at hand

The swift and bramble swoop in a creative act
And fiction is woven through every fact
We tilt toward the sun in this flicker of life
Tender we gaze on the edge of the knife

Outward inward backward around
Like the taste of the light and the touch of the sound
The night moth comforts to know she is here
And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs clear

Sleight of hand, two doves appear
Did you look away the moment that this all got here?
Let's forget the faded patterns that we all we have memorized
Let us stumble into wonder at the next sunrise

Toes at the edge of the galaxy
Pouring forward, it’s dreamlike, it always will be
In beauty and violence she dances the light
Birthing herself through the day and the night

You’re a creator, destroyer,
So easily convinced
Drop everything listen,
Don’t turn your back on this world we’re in
There’s something you know
Something that makes it whole

Curl into your nest of stars
Celestial prayers and terrestrial wars
And watch it unfold
Your story is told

Outward inward backward around
Like the taste of the light and the touch of the sound
The night moth comforts to know she is here
And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs clear

Outward inward backward around
Like the taste of the light and the touch of the sound
The night moth comforts to know she is here
And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs

And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs
And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs
And the rain rushes down 'til the water runs clear
