Darker Blooms

OUT FEB 12

by night the jasmine flora find
a sweeter nectar on the vine

darker bloomsSæra Fiøra

this song emerged one night suddenly
and when I started writing it, it was all wrong
slowly, it found its way
if it found you
you are meant to hear it

 Darker Blooms

Lying streamside by the night
Your loosened hair and tethered sight
All stripping bark and tender dream
No needle near to mend the broken seam

Where sunlight has yet to touch
And restless sleep can’t say too much
It’s not enough
She asks of you
These hidden depths
These darker blooms

I saw the roots down under
Darlin’ they are waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t give in
Bring the water to
The darker blooms

And the darker blooms
Need water too

Wounded heart as fallen tree
A home for many centuries
A temple built of earth and pain
It calls the rain the rain the rain

By night the jasmine flora find
A sweeter nectar on the vine

I saw the roots down under
Darlin’ they are waiting for you
Darlin’ don’t give in
Bring the water to
The darker blooms

And the darker blooms
They wonder too

The lily glows by moon and reed
I’ll sing you through the agony

This death between no longer and not yet
A violet wing by midnight threads

And in all your brooding
Slow undoing

These darker blooms,
They grow in you

And these darker blooms
What if they heal you?

These darker blooms
